Car Park Background

This car park was put in 8 years ago using geocell mats and gives a good example of the potential and durability of JakMat Geocell for this application.

Construction Steps

Jakaar has commissioned a registered engineer to give his recommendation of construction for a car park application using JakMat Geocell (see below).


 

Summary

Load bearing tests have also been performed on the JakMat which show high weight bearing strength (see below).

Test: JakMat packed with GAP 7 aggregate and compacted by hand. A 200mm x 9mm carbons steel plate disc was loaded as follows:

  1. Loaded to3500kg/34.4KN – No Visual Change Observed.
  2. Loaded to12910kg/126.6KN – 1.55mm deflection Observed
